Forensic Scientist

The Forensic Scientist must successfully complete an internal training program, competency tests, and proficiency test within the first 180 days of employment. The qualified forensic scientist will demonstrate proficiency in evidence examination, serology, microscopy, DNA extractions, Real Time PCR, autosomal, and Y-STR amplification, capillary electrophoresis and data interpretation.

The qualified forensic scientist will process evidence from initial accessioning through final reporting and provide expert witness testimony. Travel is occasionally necessary. Contact us for more information.

Sr. Forensic Scientist

The Sr. Forensic Scientist must successfully complete an internal training program, competency tests, and proficiency test within the first 180 days of employment. The qualified Sr. Forensic Scientist will demonstrate proficiency in evidence examination, serology, microscopy, DNA extractions, Real Time PCR, autosomal, and Y-STR amplification, capillary electrophoresis and data interpretation .

The qualified Sr. Forensic Scientist will process evidence from initial accessioning through final reporting and provide expert witness testimony. The Sr. Forensic Scientist will be assigned Sexual Assault and Murder cases and will work closely with attorneys through the litigation phases. Technical Leader

The Technical Leader must successfully complete an internal training program, competency tests, and proficiency test within the first 180 days of employment. The qualified Technical Leader will demonstrate proficiency in evidence examination, serology, microscopy, DNA extractions, Real Time PCR, autosomal, and Y-STR amplification, capillary electrophoresis and data interpretation .

The Technical Leader shall manage the technical operations of the laboratory and is responsible for evaluating all methods used by the laboratory and for proposing new or modified analytical procedures to be used by the technical staff.

The Technical Leader is responsible for technical problem solving of analytical methods and for the oversight of training, quality assurance, safety and proficiency testing in the laboratory.

The Technical Leader is responsible for ensuring Genetic Technologies, Inc. complies with the standards set forth by the AABB (11th Edition) NYSDOH, and ASCLD/LAB – International.

The Technical Leader will maintain a caseload in addition to their supervisory tasks.  Contact us for more information.
