Genetic Technologies provides accredited paternity and relatedness testing services that are fast (results typically available within two days), convenient, affordable and guaranteed accurate.
Our laboratory is an innovative and technologically superior human identification facility. The same exacting standards, equipment, and protocols we follow in our forensic analyses are utilized in each paternity and relatedness case.
DNA testing has become synonymous with paternity testing and divorce proceedings. DNA paternity testing examines several pairs of genetic markers in order to determine the probability of paternity of a child. The child inherits one marker from the mother and one from the father in each pair of the analyzed markers. If it is proven that the alleged father did not contribute half of the child’s DNA, he is excluded as the biological father. Approximately 30% of all paternity tests reveal an “exclusion.”
Our paternity testing is performed in strict accordance with the Uniform Parentage Act for both the public and private sector. We use our forensic expertise to tackle and solve complicated paternity and family reconstruction cases. We are able to perform analyses on samples deemed unacceptable by other parentage testing laboratories.
Postmortem paternity testing is often necessary to settle inheritance disputes, welfare cases, social security, and immigration issues. Exhumations of alleged fathers, long since deceased, offer ample biological material to perform DNA testing. Hospital tissue samples, paraffin embedded samples, autopsy remains and embalmed tissue have all been used to establish paternity.
Our laboratory has extensive experience in coordinating DNA testing as requested by government agencies–U.S. Embassies and the Department of State, the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), and more–for immigration visas, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, and other international services.
